Sanjay Leela Bhansali made the headlines a few weeks ago after the news of Inshallah being shelved was announced. The film, that was supposed to star Alia Bhatt and Salman Khan in leading roles, would have seen Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Salman Khan collaborate once again after many years! Fans were also excited to see the fresh pairing of Salman and Alia on screen but now, the project has been shelved for unknown reasons. A few days ago, Alia Bhatt’s visit to the filmmaker’s office in Mumbai sparked speculations that she might be collaborating with Sanjay Leela Bhansali soon and now the actress has shed some light on it.

Alia Bhatt, who was one of the many celebrities who graced the green carpet at IIFA 2019 last night, addressed the media and talked about working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She talked about how she had been very excited to work with the director, but some things are not in our control and things did not go as per plans. However, she said she would work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali very soon! And when asked about working with Salman Khan, Alia’s reply was “hopefully!” Take a look at the video here:





Meanwhile, according to a report in Mid Day, there are speculations that Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are in talks for another project entirely and it is tentatively titled Gangubai and will revolve around a brothel owner of Kamathipura. A source from the production team informed Mid Day ,” Currently, the discussion is in the nascent stage. The film was earlier offered to Priyanka Chopra, but she has her hands full with the Mindy Kaling film and The White Tiger adaptation."

In other news, Alia Bhatt won the best lead actor (female) for her role in Raazi at IIFA 2019. The best film was also won by Raazi.
